Kraut Sweep: April 23, 2013...
Welcome back as I cross the border to Germany for this week's recap of the new songs debuting on the sales chart in that country, as British folksinger Passenger enjoys a fifth week on top with "Let Her Go"...
The top debut at #18 is Maxim with "Meine Soldaten" ("My Soldiers").

Los Angeles-based new wave duo Capital Cities leaps on the chart here at #24 with "Safe And Sound", their top-10 rock hit in the US..
Italian-born Daniele Negroni, who now lives in this country and came in second on the last season of their version of the Idol franchise, pops in at #40 with "Hold On My Heart". Last year he went to #4 with "Don't Think About Me"...
British/Irish female vocal group the Saturdays take their #1 UK hit "What About Us" featuring Sean Paul to #44 here, their first appearance...
Another Idol (or Supastar) veteran, first-season winner Alexander Klaws, debuts at #48 with "Himmel Und Holle" ("Heaven and Hell"). Since his win he topped the charts here with two songs, "Take Me Tonight" and "Free Like The Wind"...unfortunately there's no video available in the US, but if you're over in Europe you can search for it in the Googles...
Scottish electro-pop trio Chvrches come in at #55 with "Recover"...
Berliner newcomer Luca Vasta enters at #72 with "Cut My Hair", my "German Pick of the Week"...
That wraps it up for this week's German excursion. I'll return tomorrow with another Song of the Day, 6 of the 60s, and this week's Aussie Sweep. Good night!
