Rock Sweep: April 27, 2013...

Part two of this week's "chart sweeps" of the newest songs to make the weekly music charts in Billboard magazine has arrived, and this time I've got the latest rock songs making the grade.

On the aggregate Rock Airplay chart (which the biz site still has fucked up three days later), Imagine Dragons remains on top for a seventh week with "Radioactive".

The sole debut at #40 is the "blue-eyed" hiphop phenomenon Macklemore & Ryan Lewis with the marriage equality-touting "Same Love"featuring Mary Lambert.  It's up to #34 on the Modern Rock list...

...and now for the format sub-charts...

On the Mainstream Rock chart, Three Days Grace ascend to #1 with "The High Life". it's remarkably their ninth chart-topper on this list.

The single entry on this format at #40 is former Cinderella vocalist Tom Keifer with "Solid Ground". It's already in the top-20 on the "Heritage Rock" format (Lord, I'm old)...

Meanwhile, at the Modern Rock/Alternative format, the aforementioned "Radioactive" hangs in on top for a ninth week...

Jumping in at #35 is the return of Queens Of The Stone Age with "My God Is The Sun", their first entry since 2007. The band topped the alt-rock chart in 2002 with "No One Knows"...

Tennessee indie-rock band The Features have their first hit at #38 with "This Disorder", which is my "Rock Pick of the Week"..

Across the board on the Triple-A (adult album alternative, or "hipster radio") chart, Family Of The Year ring in week #2 with "Hero"...

The high debut at #27 is former rapper turner sunny reggae-lite rocker Michael Franti & Spearhead with "I'm Alive (Life Sounds Like)"....

Newcomer Jamie N Collins debuts at #28 with "Rumble And Sway"...

The Kopecky Family Band chime in at #29 with "Heartbeat"...

The last entry in this newbie-heavy chart at #30 are the Wild Feathers with "The Ceiling"...

At the harder-edged Active Rock format, the aforementioned "High Road" by Three Days Grace moves to #1 here as well, and there are no new songs on the list...

Lastly, on the older-skewing Heritage Rock chart, Young Guns make it two weeks on top with "Bones"...

Rocking in at #23 is singer/musician/horror king Rob Zombie with "Dead City Radio and the Gods Of Supertown"...

...and wrapping it up is this past week's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Rush with "The Anarchist"...

New we're done on the rock end of the spectrum...I'll return in an hour and a half with the newest R&B songs on the radio.. Rock on!
