Album Sweep: April 20, 2013 - Part Two...






Welcome back to part two of this week's "album sweep" of the latest records spending their first week on Billboard magazine's Top 200 Albums sales chart. You can check out part one by clicking here, and as before I've included links to buy anything you see...

Coming in at #79 is a compilation album from disbanded indie-pop heroes Rilo Kiley, with Rkives Their last official album, Under The Blacklight, shot to #22 in 2007...

New Zealand music star Gin Wigmore (Gin for "Virginia"), has had two #1 albums in her homeland, and the latter, Gravel & Wine, now debuts in America two years later at #84...


Country singer Gretchen Wilson came out of the box strong, placing her first three albums at #1 on the country albums chart, with the second, All Jacked Up, also topping the Top 200 main list. Bow she's back at #91 with Right On Time...


The laughable hot mess that was The Bible (complete with an Obama-fied "Satan") spins off a Christian pop soundtrack hit as The Bible: Music Inspired By The Epic Miniseries comes in at #99. It has selections from American Idol's Jason Castro, Big Daddy Weave, and more...


OK, to cleanse the palate from that, the collection In Love...with Cole Porter dances in at #103. The Starbucks exclusive has tracks from Eartha Kitt, Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett, and more..


British DJ/producer Simon Green, who records under the moniker of Bonobo, enters at #122 with his fifth effort, The North Borders. One of the track features Erykah Badu on vocals...


Retro soul singer Charles Bradley debuts at #130 with his second set Victim Of Love. He was the subject of a popular documentary at the 2012 SXSW Film Festival....


Singer Josh Krajcik, who was the runner-up on the first season of the US version of the X Factor, debuts at #140 with his first post-show full-length album, Blindly, Lovely, Lonely.


Country singer Justin Moore has had two top-10 albums so far, and now an mini-set titled Point At You & Four More Hits arrives at #172...


The bajillionth Elvis Presley collection to grace the charts, the 1995 set Heart And Soul comes in at #187...


Canadian Christian punk band Hawk Nelson (ah, those subgenres!) plop in at #192 with their fifth album to make the US chart, Made. They took their set Hawk Nelson Is My Friend to #34 in 2008...


The final debut of the week is by Boston emo act Transit with Young New England at #193.
