Rock Sweep: March 30, 2013...

Right now I've got part two of today's "chart sweeps" sampling the new songs making their way on to the weekly music charts in Billboard magazine, and this time out it's the latest on rock radio.

On the aggregate Rock Airplay chart, Imagine Dragons reign for a third week with "Radioactive".

The top debut of the week belongs to British art-rock band Alt-J with "Breezeblocks" at #46. It's growing on Modern Rock radio, moving up to #25 on that chart this week...

Entering at #47 is "Anastacia" by guitarist Slash with Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators. It's #21 on both the Mainstream and Heritage formats, and #19 on the Active Rock list. It's the third single from their collaboration album Apocalyptic Love. The first, "You're A Lie", reached #12 last year.

Atlanta heavy-metal band Sevendust have the last debut here at #49 with "Decay", the first single from their album Black Out The Sun which is being released on Tuesday (Mar 26). Their last appearance on this chart was in 2010 when they took "Unraveling" to #29...

And now for the format charts....

On the Mainstream Rock list, Alice In Chains return to #1 for a fourth non-consecutive week with "Hollow".

Of the two debuts this week, nu-metal group Drowning Pool win out at #36 with "One Finger And A Fist". They've reached the top-10 on this format five times before, with "Feel Like I Do" reaching #4 in 2010. This single also climbs to #35 on the Active Rock chart...

Kansas City post-grunge band Red Line Chemistry come in at #39 with "Paralyzed". It's their fifth to reach this chart...is it scary that "planking" seems retro now? Either way, it's my "rock pick" of the week...

Meanwhile, over on the Modern Rock/Alternative chart, Imagine Dragons' "Radioactive" remain on top for a fifth week, while there are no new debuts on the list...

On the Triple-A (adult-album alternative, or "hipster rock") format, Mumford & Sons stay at the summit for a second week with "Lover Of The Light".

The sole arrival on the AAA chart this week at #30 is London singer/songwriter Ben Howard, who follows his top-ten hit "Only Love" with "Keep Your Head Up", which was a top-40 hit in Belgium and the Netherlands last year...

At the harder-edged Active Rock chart, Pennsylvania's Halestorm climb to the top with "Freak Like Me", as the aforementioned "Paralyzed" by Red Line Chemistry is the top debut at #37...

The other entry at #40 is British modern rock outfit Foals with "Inhaler", which moves up to #20 on the Alternative list and #33 on the main rock chart...

Lastly, on the older-skewing Heritage Rock format, the aforementioned "Hollow" by Alice In Chains grabs a sixth week at #1...

The single debut on the chart at #23 is Otherwise with "I Don't Apologize (1000 Pictures)", which is top-20 on both the Mainstream and Active Rock charts...

That wraps up this selection of rock goodness, I'll return in 90 minutes with the newest on R&B radio. Rock on!
