Dance Sweep: March 16, 2013...
Thanks for hanging in there, we're finally up to my last "chart sweep" of the night, sampling the new music on Billboard's singles charts. This time out it's the latest dance jams in the clubs and on the radio...
On the DJ-polled Hot Dance Club Play chart, Swedish A-lister Avicii and Dutchman Nicky Romero climb to #1 with "I Could Be The One". It's the second chart-topper for each...
The high debut of the week at #44 are newcomers Gimm + Icky with "Shake That". Hipster disco. That is all.

Speaker of 'hipster' disco, coming in at #46 is that song. Baauer gets his first club hit with "Harlem Shake". Lord. Nothing is sacred.
Right below that is the should-be #1 song in the country, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' "Thrift Shop", though the translation to the club isn't really my cup of percolated...
Alexis Jordan, who had back to back #1 club hits in 2010-11 with "Happiness" and "Good Girl", returns at #49 with "Acid Rain", which samples the European club hit "Rattle" by the Bingo Players. A little left-field for me for her voice, but in this too-thin field wins out for dance pick of the week...
The final entry at #50 is Justin Timberlake's top-10 pop product, "Suit & Tie". What is it this week with sad pop remixes? Make it stop! You know, I'd probably like this 100% more if #1) they took out that ridiculous "shit tied" shit, and #2) remove Jay-Z and his idiotic product-placement altogether.
Over on the radio-monitored Hot Dance Airplay chart, not only does the Swedish House Mafia's "Don't You Worry Child" hang around for a 16th non-consecutive week, but there are no debuts on the list at all..
Damn, what a way to close out. It's a crappy week for dance music. But hey, there's always next week! Thanks for dropping by, and you can check out my personal top-100 chart by clicking here. Tomorrow I'll have another Song of the Day, Candletime, This week's "Album Sweep" part one, and my British music recap. Hope to see ya there!
