Soul Sweep: February 23, 2012...

It's round three of today's "chart sweeps" as I recap the latest music making their debut on Billboard magazine's weekly music charts, and I'm up to the newest on R&B radio...

On the R&B/HipHop Airplay chart, Miguel's "Adorn" finally gets deposed after 22 amazing week's at #1 by rapper A$AP Rocky's "F**kin' Problems", his first #1 hit.

The top debut at #32 is Canadian actor/rapper/Grammy winner Drake with "Started From The Bottom", which I admit is ten times more entertaining with the video (hence his TV background). Drake has had 10 of his own singles reach the top-10 and 18 more featured credits doing the same...(NSFW)

Kelly Rowland is back from her Destiny's Child reunion at #41 with "Kisses Down Low". She's been to the R&B top-10 four times, with both "Dilemma" (with Nelly) and "Motivation" (featuring Lil' Wayne) reaching the top...

Rapper Tyga returns at #45 with "Dope" featuring Rick Ross. He went to #5 in 2011 with his own "Rack City", and also has made the top-10 as a featured artist two more times, topping the list as part of Chris Brown's "Deuces" the year before...(NSFW)

The song Billboard's joke of a main R&B chart names #1, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' "Thrift Shop", finally crosses over to the radio monitored chart at #46...(NSFW)

The final debut on the main R&B radio chart is rapper Wale with "Bad" featuring Tiara Thomas at #48. He has sent three songs to the R&B top-10, with "Lotus Flower Bomb" topping the list in 2011...

Meanwhile, over on the Adult R&B format, Charlie Wilson remains on top for a second week with "My Love Is All I Have".

The top entry at #29 is the late Teena Marie, who comes in with "Wild Horses", a song from her 1994 independent album Passion Play.

The other debut of the week at #36 is "So Bad" by singer Sparkle, who topped the main R&B airplay chart for six weeks with "Be Careful" in 1998...

That's a wrap for this installment, I'll return in 90 minutes with the newest on country radio. Groove on!
