Album Sweep: February 16, 2013 - Part Two...
Hey gang, I'm back with part two of this week's "album sweep", sampling the records making their debut on the Top 200 Albums chart in Billboard magazine, with links to anything you see. Support the music! You can check out part one by clicking here...
Alt-metal group Tomahawk, led by former Faith No More singer Mike Patton, have their biggest week as their fourth album Oddfellows comes in at #69. Their two previous sets made the bottom half of the chart.

After their much-heralded appearance on the Super Bowl half-time show, Destiny's Child only manage to enter at #72 with their collection Love Songs. Mind you, it only has three of their big hits, but it does contain the new single "Nuclear", and since the tracking week stopped on Sunday they may get a boost next week..
Christian rapper Da T.R.U.T.H. gets his first album in the top-half of the chart as Love Hope War arrives at #88. It's his third to make the big chart.
Actress and singer Emmy Rossum, who can be seen right now starring in the American version of the show Shameless, as well in the upcoming star-fest movie Beautiful Creatures, debuts on the chart at #92 with her second album Sentimental Journey, her first to reach the top half of the list.
The Rend Collective Experiment, a Christian folk-rock act from Northern Ireland, enter at #97 with Campfire: Worship & Community Reimagined. It's actually the freshest and truest religious music I've heart in quite a while.
Folk musician (Sixto) Rodriguez, who is the subject to the Oscar-nominated documentary Searching For The Sugar Man, sees the re-release of his second album from 1971, Coming From Reality, make its debut on the chart at #164. Last year his first, Cold Fact, reached #78, while the film's soundtrack peaked two rungs higher. This song is just gorgeous.
Swedish dance/electronic duo Icona Pop come in at #171 with their Iconic EP, featuring their worldwide hit "I Love It" which was hyped on Girls....
Indie folk act Fiction Family, which includes Nickel Creek's Sean Watkins and Switchfoot's Jon Foreman, are back after four years (and a holiday EP last Christmas) with their second set Fiction Family Reunion at #173.
Mexican music star Jenni Rivera, who sadly passed away last year in a plane crash, comes on the charts this week with two older albums. First, at #175, is Parrandera Rebelde y Atrevida from 2005.
...while at #198 is Simplemente...La Mejor!, a compilation from 2004...
...the debut sandwiched in between the Rivera albums at #186 is the first album by an alum (let alone winner) of RuPaul's Drag Race to make the chart. Sharon Needles' PG-13 does the trick, as it were...
That closes out this week's second string of albums...out of these the three I'd go for first are the Emmy Rossum, Rodriguez, and Rend Collective albums....though the Sharon Needles and Icona Pop are good choices (I'm waiting for IP's full length )...
