French Sweep: February 12, 2013...


It's time to check out the latest music making its way on to the official sales chart in France this week, as Macklemore and Ryan Lewis spend a second week at #1 with "Thrift Shop".

The second season of this country's edition of The Voice premiered, and the top debut of the week belongs to a performance from the show, as Olympe comes in all the way at #13 with his version of Lana Del Rey's "Born To Die". Ironically, Lana's original also peaked at #13 last year in this country.

Israeli folk-rock singer Asaf Avidan and his band the Mojos follow up their #3 hit "One Day/Reckoning Song" at #44 with "Different Pulses".


Not to be confused with the "Gangnam Style" guy, French rap group Psy 4 de la Rime, quartet from the Comoros and Morocco who live in Marseilles, debut at #48 with "Crise De Nerfs" ("Nervous Breakdown"). They have previously went to this country's top-40 twice.


British singer Conor Maynard jumps in at #52 with his first hit in this country, "Turn Around" featuring American singer Ne-Yo...


Iconic new-wave veterans Depeche Mode are back at #71 with their first new song in four years, "Heaven". The group has went to the top-10 in France four previous times, with their biggest hit "I Feel You" reaching #5 in 1993...


The second Voice single to make the chart at #78 is Anthony Touma with his rendition of "Billie Jean"...


French singer and former first lady Carla Bruni is back on the chart as "Chez Keith et Anita" ("Keith and Anita's House") comes in at #86.


The last entry from The Voice at #90 is Luc Arbogast, who is a big bear of a countertenor who sings in the Medieval style, and his "Cancion Sefaradi" earned him a turnaround from all four mentors...His Voice performance is unembedable but you can see it by clicking here...


While Macklemore and Ryan Lewis stay at #1, another hit from the guys, "Can't Hold Us", comes in at #93...


R&B singer Matt Houston, from the French island territory of Guadeloupe, has the last debut of the week at #98 with "Tu Y Yo" (Spanish for "You and Me") featuring Lylloo. Houston has had three top-10 hits, with "RnB 2 rue" reaching #4 in 2001...
