Songoftheday 1/10/15 - Contact is all that it takes To change your life, to lose your place in time...

"Love Walks In" - Van Halen
from the album 5150 (1986)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #22 (two weeks)
Weeks in the Top-40: 9

Today's Song of the Day comes from the hard rock band Van Halen, who switched lead singers from David Lee Roth to Sammy Hagar in the mid-80s, and the first "Van Hagar" album, 5150, had already scored a top-3 pop hit with "Why Can't This Be Love" and a top-40 follow-up with "Dreams". The third single from the project, "Love Walks In", written by the group, was again chock-full of synths behind a semi-romantic facade with extraterrestrial overtones...

"Love Walks In" became the third top-40 pop hit from 5150 in October of 1986, while climbing to #4 on the Mainstream Rock radio chart in Billboard (the third top-tenner from the set). The single also was a minor hit in Canada, topping out at #75.
