Dance Sweep: January 31, 2015...






We've reached the end of today's musical journey, as I roll out the final "chart sweep" of the day, sampling the latest dance jams in Billboard magazine.

On their DJ-polled Dance Club Play chart, the #1 pop song in the USA, "Uptown Funk!" from Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars, jumps to #1 on this list as well...

Scottish DJ and producer Calvin Harris comes in at #48 with "Outside" featuring Ellie Goulding. His last single, "Blame" (which peaked at #5 here), is one notch higher at #47...

Former Disney queen Selena Gomez returns at #49 with the remixes of her ballad "The Heart Wants What It Wants". Her last two solo hits topped the club chart - "Come and Get It" and "Slow Down"...


British DJ/producer Naughty Boy teams up with singer Sam Romans at #50 with "Home". Last year he went to #18 with "La La La" with Sam Smith...


Meanwhile, on the radio-monitored Dance Airplay/Mixshow chart,  Ariana Grande and the Weeknd reign for a third week with "Love Me Harder"...

Dutch trance veteran Ferry Corsten comes in at #26 with his former top-10 club hit "Hyper Love" featuring Nat Dunn. He previously went to #6 on the airplay chart with "Fire"...


 Swedish DJ and EDM king Avicii returns at #32 with "The Nights"...


British neo-house act Clean Bandit dance in at #33 with "Real Love" featuring vocalist Jess Glynne. It follows their #1 hit "Rather Be", and it's my "Dance Pick of the Week"...


Canadian alt-hip-hop artist ILOVEMAKONNEN's #1 R&B hit "Tuesday" crosses over to this format at #38...


Finally, at #39 is a former "Dance Pick" and last week's #1 club hit, "Go All Night" by British neo-house duo Gorgon City with Jennifer Hudson...
