Today's Song of the Day is the third single released from Journey's lead singer Steve Perry's debut solo album. After scoring a top-3 hit off the bat with "Oh Sherrie", then following it with "She's Mine", Perry released "Strung Out", written by the singer with guitarist Billy Steele and drummer Craig Krampf....

"Strung Out" became Steve's third top-40 pop hit in October of 1984, while doing a bit better on rock radio, topping out at #17 on that format.
