Songoftheday 11/18/13 - I could capture all the love the great romantics had, sing you a song that ain't half bad...
Corey Hart - "It Ain't Enough"
from the album First Offense (1984)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #17 (two weeks)
Weeks in the Top-40: 9
Today's Song of the Day was the follow-up to Canadian pop singer/songwriter Corey Hart's top-10 hit "Sunglasses At Night". "It Ain't Enough", written by the artist, slowed down the pace a bit, and the video gave a nod to Corey's last hit at the beginning, along with some storyline of the hunky singer chasing after an old flame...
"It Ain't Enough" reached the pop top-20 in the US in December of 1984, while scaling up to #4 in his native Canada (the same rank as "Sunglasses..."). It also went to #35 on the rock radio chart in Billboard, and the record was his first to chart at the adult-contemporary (easy-listening) format at #19.

The original version of the video had the unmixed album version of the song and didn't have the plotline, just Corey and the microphone...
Here's Corey performing the song on TV in 1996 in a much gentler and earthy setting...
...and again in 2012 at Pride in Toronto...
Finally here he is from a TV appearance last year...
Up tomorrow: A Fab Fourth gives his regards via the movies.
