Aussie Sweep: November 27, 2013...


G'day mates, "hump" day is here, and time to look at the songs reaching the official sales chart in Australia this week, as Eminem and Rihanna spend a second week at #1 with "The Monster"...

The top debut is by singer and X Factor Australia fourth-season winner Samantha Jade with "Soldier", my "Aussie Pick of the Week".  It's her fourth top-40 hit here - she topped the chart last year with "What You've Done To Me"...

British singer/songwriter/awesomeness Lily Allen is in at #33 with "Hard Out Here". She went to #3 with both "The Fear" in 2008 and "Not Fair" the following year...


Australian jam-band John Butler Trio, from the southwestern city of Fremantle, arrive at #44 with "Only One". They've racked up eight top-40 singles in this country, with "Funky Tonight" with Keith Urban just missing the top ten at #11 in 2007...


Australian dance/pop singer and dance Timomatic returns at #48 with "Everything Is Allowed". He was a finalist and now is a judge on Australia's Got Talent...


Justin Bieber's seventh "Music Mondays" offering, "PYD" featuring R. Kelly, comes in at #56....


Danish modern rock group New Politics debut at #69 with their worldwide hit "Harlem"...


British drum and bass act Rudimental are in at #71 with "Free" featuring Emeli Sande and Nas. It's their fifth single from their debut Home to make the chart...


London rapper Tinie Tempah comes in at #74 with "Children Of The Sun" with singer John Martin...


Harrison Craig, who won the last season of this country's version of The Voice, makes a humble entry at #84 with "Lift Your Spirit". It's a charity record for the "Make-A-Wish" foundation...


British indie-rockers the Wombats make it in at #86 with "Your Body is A Weapon". In 2010 they've had their only top-40 hit so far with "Tokyo (Vampires & Wolves)"...


The final entry of the week at #94 is Senegalese-American singer Akon with "So Blue". It's the first single from his upcoming Stadium album. He's had ten top-ten singles in Australia, with "Lonely" and "Sexy Bitch" with David Guetta both topping the list...
