French Sweep: November 5, 2013...

I'm ready to cross back over the Atlantic to check out the songs making the official sales chart in France this week, as Vitaa scores her first #1 hit with "Game Over"...

The highest debut of the week belongs to Lady Gaga, who teams up with the unlikely choice of soul singer/producer R. Kelly at #8 with "Do What U Want". It's the second from her upcoming ARTPOP album - "Applause" came in at #3 a few months ago..

Justin Bieber's "Hold Tight", the third of his one-off releases, enters at #46...

Rapper Dry, from the Parisian suburb of Sevran, comes in at #57 with "Le Choix" ( "The Choice"). Last year he went to #41 with "Ma Melodie". Both records feature Maitre Gims....

Fellow Parisian suburbanite Yodelice, a singer from Creteil, enters at #72 with his second to make the top-100, "Fade Away", my "French Pick of the Week".  Under a rework of his real name Maxim Nucci, which he acts under, he went to #25 with "Talk To Me"...

American alt-rock group AWOLnation debut at #85 with their slow-burn hit "Sail", which was originally released two years ago. It's in the US top-20 right now as well..

The final entry at #95 is "La Belle Vie" from Perfect Gentlemen. The traditional pop vocal trio have the second biggest album of the week behind Stromae's Racine Caree'...
