Rock Sweep: November 16, 2013...
Part two of this week's "chart sweeps" is up with the latest rock songs making the charts in Billboard magazine...
On the aggregate Rock Airplay chart, British modern rock group Bastille check in for week number three at the top with "Pompeii"...
The top debut at #38 is the return of alternative rock band Young The Giant, whose sophomore album Mind Over Matter will be released at the start of next year. The first single, "It's About Time", is their third to make the top-40 here, and it's my "Rock Pick of the Week". In 2011 they went to #9 with "Cough Syrup"...

Kings Of Leon follow up their #8 hit "Supersoaker" with "Temple", which is in at #44. It also moves up to #34 on the Alternative chart..
Rounding things out at #50 are A Perfect Circle with "By And Down". The single from the group's greatest hits album moves up to #18 on the Mainstream Rock format...
On the Mainstream Rock radio panel, Korn jump to #1 with "Never Never". It's their first-ever #1 single here..
The band that relinquishes the top spot, Avenged Sevenfold, are back at #37 with their next singe, "Shepherd Of Fire"...
Newcomers Gemini Syndrome debut at #38 with "Stardust"...
...and at #39 is Chicago-based post-grunge act Soil with "Shine On"...
Meanwhile, on the Modern Rock/Alternative chart, "Pompeii" spends a fourth week at #1, while the aforementioned "It's About Time" by Young The Giant is the top entry at #24...
The top Mainstream Rock hit, "Never Never" by Korn, crosses over to this chart at #39. Their biggest hit on this format so far was "Here To Stay", which peaked at #4 in 2002..
...and at #40 is the Airborne Toxic Event with their contribution to the soundtrack to Dallas Buyers Club, "Hell and Back". Their last single "Timeless", went to #16 earlier this year...This lyric clip features Willam from RuPaul's Drag Race and Vicky Vox...
Jumping in at #23 are the 1975 from Britain with "Chocolate". The song went to #29 on the Modern Rock chart, and is current at #35 in its 16th week there..
Another crossover from the alternative rock chart, "Come A Little Closer" by Cage The Elephant, comes in at #26. It holds at #2 on the other format..
The third song to enter, at #27, is from Matt Nathanson, who follows up his top-ten hit "Mission Bells" with "Kinks Shirt", with a fabulous new video directed by Bobcat Goldthwait..
The final entry at #30 is the aforementioned "Temple" from Kings of Leon, who went to #2 on this format with "Supersoaker" (their best showing)...
On the harder-edged Active Rock radio panel, Korn's "Never Never" climbs to the top, while Avenged Sevenfold's "Shepherd Of Fire" enters at #38...
The other debut at #40 is Young Guns with "You Are Not (Lonely)", the third single from their Bones album. The title track topped this chart last year...
Finally, on the older-skewing Heritage Rock format, Avenged Sevenfold cling on to #1 for an eleventh week with "Hail To The King"...
Coming in at #24 is former Cinderella lead vocalist Tom Keifer with his second solo hit "Cold Day In Hell"...
...and Kings Of Leon take their "Supersoaker" to #25 on this format..
