Today's Song of the Day is by the heartthrob New Romantic pop group Duran Duran, who came back with full force at the close of 1983 with their first new album since their breakthrough, Seven & The Lonely Tiger, a front-to-back massive album of massive songs where every cut could be a hit single (and three were). The first release "Union Of The Snake" matched their first big hit "Hungry Like The Wolf", going to #3 at the close of the year. The second single, "New Moon On Monday", is one of their "oh, yeah I forgot about that song from the radio!" hits that of course came with a high-concept video polished for MTV from its original 17-minute version...


It's like Hogan's Heroes, no?

"New Moon On Monday" became the Fab Five's fourth top-10 hit in March of 1984, while going to #9 in their native Britain and top-5 in Canada and Ireland. In the US, it also made it to #4 on the rock chart,
