Rock Sweep: June 15, 2013...

It's time for round two of this week's "chart sweeps" sampling the songs reaching the various singles charts in Billboard magazine, and now I'm up to the latest on rock radio...

On the aggregate Rock Airplay chart, Imagine Dragons reign for a 14th week on top with "Radioactive"...

The top entry of this week belongs to Australian rock group Sick Puppies at #47 with "There's No Going Back". It also moves up to #28 on the Mainstream Rock and #32 on the Alternative Rock panels. Their last single, "Riptide" so far has been their biggest here, reaching #6...(NSFW)

Hawaiian reggae-rock group Pepper returns at #49 with the text-ready "FKNARND"...(also NSFW)..

The last of the debuts here at #50 are Mumford & Sons with the title track to their album Babel...

...and now for the rock format subcharts...

On the Mainstream Rock panel, Danish rockers Volbeat stay at #1 for a third week with "Hangman's Body Count", and there are no debuts to be found...

Meanwhile, on the Modern Rock/Alternative chart, Capital Cities climb to #1 with "Safe & Sound" (yay!), while the aforementioned "FKNARND" by Pepper is the highest debut at #36...

The other debut at #37 is the return of alt-rock group Portugal. The Man., from Wasilla Alaska (yes, Sarah Palin's home), with "Purple Yellow Red and Blue". It's their third to reach the chart - back in 2009 their first, "People Say", went up to #16...(NSFW)

Over at the Triple-A (adult album alternative, or "Hipster Rock") format, Serena Ryder holds on to the top spot for a sixth week with "Stompa"...

The big debut here at #27 are Icelandic rockers Of Monsters And Men with their third US single "King & Lionheart". It's my "Rock Pick of the Week"...

British singer Michael Kiwanuka follows up his top-10 AAA hit "I'm Getting Ready" with "Home Again" at #29...

The last new entry on this chart at #30 is the former #1 Modern Rock hit "Sweater Weather" by the Neighbourhood...

On the harder-edged Active Rock chart, Volbeat remains on top for a third week with "Hangman's Body Count"....

The sole debut at #39 are Young Guns with the followup to their #1 "Bones", "Towers (On My Way)"...

Lastly, on the older-skewing Heritage Rock list, Black Sabbath's "God Is Dead?" is at the top for a third week, and there are no debuts here...

That'll do for the rock side of things...I'll return in an hour and a half with the latest on R&B radio... Rock on!
