Pop Sweep: April 20, 2013...

Hey gang, it's time to kick off today's five-part "chart sweeps" checking out the newest songs making their way on to the weekly music charts in Billboard magazine. I'll start with the latest on the pop side.

On the big chart, the Billboard Hot 100, Bruno Mars racks up his fifth #1 single as "When I Was Your Man" climbs to the top this week.

The top debut of the week is by Chris Brown, whose next album X is due this summer. "Fine China" arrives at #52. Is there any record he does that isn't Auto-tuned to infinity? Can he really sing?

The Jonas Brothers have reformed and are back at #60 with their first Hot 100 hit in four years with "Pom Poms". They've had one top-5 hit in their career, "Burnin' Up" in 2008..

Rapper and American Idol judge Nicki Minaj is in at #83 with "High School" featuring Lil' Wayne, from the re-released version of her Roman Reloaded album...(NSFW)

The final debut on the Hot 100 at #98 is British X Factor winners Little Mix with their first American hit, "Wings"....

Now on to the radio format charts....

On the Mainstream Pop radio chart, Bruno stays at #1 for a second week...

The top debut at #33 is Nickelodeon star and newbie singer Ariana Grande with "The Way" featuring Mac Miller on a rap cameo...

The other entry at #40 is another actress, Anna Kendrick, with an expanded version of her cover of "Cups (When I'm Gone)" from the crazy good Pitch Perfect movie...

Meanwhile, over on the Adult Top-40 list, Mumford & Sons belatedly reach the top after a half a year on the chart with "I Will Wait"...

The sole debut here this week is Michael Buble' at #40 with his awesome new one, "It's a Beautiful Day", this week's "Pop Pick of the Week"...

Lastly, on the older-skewing "Adult Contemporary" chart, Phillip Phillips now has a dozen weeks at the top with "Home"...

The single entry at #28 is the first non-cover single by Rod Stewart since 2001 with "She Makes Me Happy"...

That does it for part one...I'll be back in 90 minutes with the newest on rock radio....
