French Sweep: April 16, 2013...

Hey gang, it's time to cross the Atlantic to check out what's new that's selling over in Europe this week, and my first stop is France, where rapper Maitre Gims spends a third week at #1 on the official sales chart with "J'me Tire"...

Former first lady Carla Bruni is back to being the breadwinner of the house as her new album Little French Songs comes in at #2, while multiple tracks from the set come on the chart. First at #42 (the high entry of the week) is "Le pingouin" ("The Penguin"). It's her jab at new president Francois Hollande. Oh lord, girl, get a grip.

One rung below that is equally annoying Chris Brown with his latest, "Fine China"...

The second Bruni track to come on the chart at #57 is "Mon Raymond"...

Austrian DJ Marcus Fureder, who records under the name Parov Stelar, arrives at #72 with "The Mojo Radio Gang"..

French singer Zaz has a new single on the charts at #91 with "On Ira" ("We Will"). She has had three top-40 hits in her country..

The final song spending its first week on the chart are the Beatles, who come in at #96 with their classic 1969 song "Let It Be"...
