Today's Song of the day is by the arena-rock group from Illinois, Styx, who released their high-concept album Kilroy Was Here in 1983. The album was based around the story of a future world governed by fascists set on repressing rock music, and the first single, the Broadway-sounding "Mr. Roboto", became their sixth top-10 pop single. They followed it up with "Don't Let it End", a midtempo song of a guy regretting leaving a romantic relationship, and the video tied it into the imprisonment of the main character, Kilroy...

"Don't Let It End" followed the former single into the top-10, their last time until 1991, after guitarist/second lead singer Tommy Shaw left the band. It was also a minor hit in both Great Britain and Germany. However since leader Dennis DeYoung (wrote wrote both songs) left the group, they haven't played it in concert since.
