Songoftheday 7/10/12 - Ooh, something's got a hold on me now,...

Eddie Money - "Think I'm In Love"
from the album No Control (1982)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #16 (three weeks)
Weeks in the top-40: 12

Today's song of the day is by New York rocker Eddie Money, who started out as a policeman, before moving to California for a music career under the mentorship of legendary promoter Bill Graham. Money put his first self-titled album out in 1977, and in return got his first top-40 hit, "Baby Hold On", that just missed the top-10 at #11.

"Think I'm In Love" was released as the first single from Money's fourth album, No Control. It brought him back into the pop top-20 in 1982...

The song also topped the rock radio chart, and later was used in the movie Joe Dirt. The album also went top-20, selling over a million copies. But his career was still hit-or-miss at this point, which would change in 1986 when he recruited Ronnie Spector to sing backup on "Take Me Home Tonight", and he would be A-list bound.

Up tomorrow: The engineer for the likes of the Beatles and Pink Floyd has his biggest hit.
