"Ladies First" was a club hit for rapper/singer/actress/talk show host Queen Latifah. Appearing on her debut album All Hail The Queen, the song was written by her (under her birth name Dana Owens) and produced and mixed by "DJ Mark The 45 King" James, and featured British newcomer Monie Love. On Billboard magazine's Dance Club Play chart, the single peaked at #38 in 1990, while reaching #64 on their R&B Singles list.
