"Makes You Blind" was a club hit for the British rock act the Glitter Band, who started out as the backing group for glam rock artist Gary Glitter (the "Rock and Roll Part 2" guy). Appearing on their album Makes You Blind (or Listen To The Band in their homeland), the instrumental song was written by members Pete Phipps and Gerry Shepherd along with producer Mike Leander. On Billboard magazine's National Disco Action Top-40 chart, the single peaked at #4 in 1976, spending a hefty 22 weeks on the list.
