Rock Sweep: December 12, 2015...


Round two of this week's "music sweeps" is up with the latest hits on rock radio as monitored by Billboard magazine...

On their main Rock Airplay chart, twenty-one pilots climb to #1 with "Stressed Out". It's their first to reach the top of this list...

As Dave Grohl announced the hiatus of his band Foo Fighters, they released a free EP digitally last week, and the title track Saint Cecilia enters the radio airplay chart at #41...

Like a Storm, a hard rock outfit from New Zealand, come in at #48 with "Become The Enemy". The song moves up to #15 on the Mainstream Rock chart, their highest placing so far...


Another top-20 Mainstream Rock hit makes the big list as Pop Evil drop in at #49 with "Ways To Get High". The song jumps to #19 on the harder radio panel. It follows up "Footsteps", which peaked at #12 on this chart...


And now on to the rock radio format charts...

On the harder-edged Mainstream Rock radio panel, Bring Me The Horizon are on top for a second week with "Throne"...

Saint Asonia, the band led by former Three Days Grace singer/songwriter Adam Gontier, follow up their top ten debut "Better Place" with the song at #32, "Let Me Live My Life"...


The third single from British modern rock group Muse's Drones album, "Reapers", lands at #39. The first, "Dead Inside", made it to #10 on this format...


Meanwhile, on the Alternative/Modern Rock chart,  "Stressed Out" remains at #1 for a fourth week...

The Struts are back at #37 with "Kiss This". Their first hit "Could Have Been Me" reached #5 on this list...


Michigan singer/songwriter BØRNS also nabs his second hit with "10,000 Emerald Pools". The first, "Electric Love", went to #15 on the chart...


Lastly, on the Triple-A (adult album alternative, or "hipster rock") format, Adele's "Hello" is on top for a fourth week...

The sole entry at #26 is Icelandic indie-pop act Kaleo with "Way Down We Go", my "Rock Pick of the Week". Their debut hit "All The Pretty Girls" made the top 10 on this chart...
