German Sweep: December 9, 2015...

Here's the top ten hits in Germany this week, according to their official singles chart, as Adele's "Hello" racks up a sixth straight week on top...

1. "Hello" - Adele (1)
2. "Geiles Leben" - Glasperlenspiel (2)
3. "Catch & Release (Deepend Remix)" - Matt Simons (7)
4. "Sorry" - Justin Bieber (3)
5. "Astronaut" - Sido featuring Andreas Bourani (6)
6. "Lush Life" - Zara Larsson (4)
7. "Avenir" - Louane (5)
8. "Love Yourself" - Justin Bieber (8)
9. "Show Me Love" - Robin Schulz featuring J.U.D.G.E. (DEBUT)
10. "Ich hab Polizei" - POL1Z1STENS0HN aka Jan Böhmermann (DEBUT)

German DJ and producer Robin Schulz, who has scored international hits with remixes of Mr. Probz' "Waves" and Lillywood's "Prayer In C" along with his own material, comes in at #9 with the third single from his Sugar album, "Show Me Love" featuring J.U.D.G.E. His last radio hit "Sugar" went all the way to #1 in Germany. Not a remake of either the Robin S or the Robyn singles from the 90s, this original is another mix of alt-rock attitude and EDM pacing. The video is quite cute in its 'real to surreal life relationship' portrayal.

German TV personality and comedian Jan Böhmermann, from the northern city of Bremen, sees himself jump into the top 10 under the moniker POL1Z1STENS0HN ("Policemen's Son") for "Ich Hab Polizei" ("I Have Police"). A parody of the rap/hip hop culture in his country, twisting to be a promo for the national law enforcers, it's earnestly executed but not sure the intent, with the subtle whitewashing of everybody in the video to deliberately evade talk about race relations in the country...
