Robbed hit of the week 12/14/15 - So's "Are You Sure"...

"Are You Sure" - So
from the album Horseshoe In The Glove (1987)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #41

This week's "robbed hit" comes from the British rock duo So, who left the post-punk act the Opposition in the late 80s to walk a new musical path. Marcus Bell and Mark Long released what would be their sole album, Horseshoe in the Glove, in 1987. The single from the set, "Are You Sure", was a slick slice of rock in the style of Cutting Crew and Glass Tiger...

"Are You Sure" just missed making the American pop Top-40 by a notch in April of 1988. In fact, of the four songs that reached #41, this was the only one from an act that never did reach that level either before or after. A shame, since this layered performance was worthy of being broadcast to America by Casey Kasem. The duo would reform the Opposition, with Bell passing away in 2014.

Totally forgot about this song. #41 is such a rough spot to get stuck.
