"Dominoes" - Robbie Nevil
from the album Robbie Nevil (1986)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #14 (one week)
Weeks in the Top-40: 9
Today's SOTD is by the plentifully-locked singer/songwriter Robbie Nevil, who scored his first big hit at the beginning of 1987 with "C'est La Vie". His follow-up single sped up the pace a-bit, with "Dominoes", written by the artist with Bobby Hart and Dick Eastman. His falsetto is the best part of the record, and his proto-Bolton hair wins the video...
"Dominoes" became Robbie's second big hit, reaching the pop top-20 in April of 1987, while climbing to #22 on Billboard's Dance Club Play chart. The record also was a top-40 hit in England (#26) and Australia (#38).
