Songoftheday 5/29/15 - It's all the same only the names will change, everyday it seems we're wastin' away...

"Wanted Dead Or Alive" - Bon Jovi
from the album Slippery When Wet (1986)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #7 (three weeks)
Weeks in the Top-40: 12

Today's SOTD comes from the Jersey-bred hard rock band Bon Jovi, whose third album Slippery When Wet had already scored them a pair of #1 pop hits with "You Give Love A Bad Name" and "Livin' On A Prayer". Their third single from the record took them to the "wild, wild west" with the gritty power-balladry of "Wanted Dead Or Alive". Comparing their life as rock stars to cowboys of old, it inspired a slew of metal acts in the 80s to follow...

"Wanted Dead Or Alive" became the third top-10 pop hit from Slippery... in June of 1987, while climbing to #13 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock radio chart. Internationally, the single made the top-10 in Ireland and New Zealand, and top-20 in the UK, Canada, and the Netherlands.
