Rock Sweep: April 18, 2015...


Round two of this week's 'chart sweeps' checking out the latest songs reaching the charts in Billboard magazine is up, with the newest on rock radio...

On the main Rock Airplay chart, Mumford & Sons race to #1 in only their fourth week on the chart with "Believe". It's their second after "I Will Wait"...

Indie rock group Cold War Kids fall in at #47 with "First"....

In The Valley Below lands at #48 with "Peaches", which also jumps up to #23 on the Alternative chart in its eighth week...


Alt-country act Houndmouth take their top-10 Triple-A hit "Sedona" to the main chart at #49...


As Canadian post-grungers Three Days Grace leap to the top-20 on the Mainstream Rock list with the third single from their Human album, "Human Race", the track makes it on to the big rock list at #50...


And now on to the rock radio format charts...

On the Mainstream Rock radio panel, the Foo Fighters are on top for a third week with "Congregation"...

The sole debut on the list at #35 is Bridge To Grace with "Bitch"...


Meanwhile, on the Alternative/Modern Rock chart, the aforementioned Mumford and Sons single jumps to #1 (their third on this chart, along with "I Will Wait" and "Little Lion Man")...

Breaking Benjamin's top-10 Mainstream Rock hit "Failure" crosses over to this list at #39. On this chart they've gone as high as #3 twice with "So Cold" in 2004 and "Breath" in 2007...


The aforementioned "First" from the Cold War Kids is in at #40. Their last single "All This Could Be Yours" went to #36 here...

Lastly, on the Triple-A (adult album alternative, or "hipster rock") format, "Believe" is on top for a second week...

British modern rock kings Muse are here at #27 with "Dead Inside", which jumps to #7 on the alternative chart...


Southern rock band JJ Grey and MOFRO come in at #29 with "Every Minute"...


The last newbie at #30 is Scottish-born singer/songwriter Greg Holden with "Hold On Tight", my "Rock pick of the Week"...
