Pop Sweep: April 25, 2015...
It's time to kick off the first of today's five "chart sweeps", checking out the songs making their way on to the various charts in Billboard magazine. As usual, I'll start off on the pop side of things, then later in the day move on to the latest in rock, R&B, country, and dance music. And away we go...
On the "big" chart, Billboard's Hot 100, which combines tallies from sales (like AmazonMP3 or iTunes), internet streaming (like Spotify and YouTube), and radio airplay from all formats, Wiz Khalifa lands his second #1 hit as his single from the Furious 7 movie, "See You Again", leaps from #10 to #1. He previously went to the top with "Black And Yellow" in 2010...
Another selection from that soundtrack becomes the highest debut as Kid Ink, Tyga, Wale, YG, and Rich Homie Quan enter at #70 with "Ride Out". Between the five of them they've been lead artist on seven top-40 hits...

The second preview track from modern rock act Twenty One Pilots' upcoming Blurryface album, "Tear In My Heart", comes in at #82. The first, "Fairly Local", went to #84 earlier this year...
Country cutie Thomas Rhett is in at #96 with "Crash And Burn", the first single from his upcoming second album. His first #1 country hit "It Goes Like This" climbed to #25 on the Hot 100...
Pop newcomer Who Is Fancy (a former "Song You Should Know About" of mine) claims his first hit as "Goodbye" drops in at #98. It's my "Pop Pick of the Week"...
Easton Corbin takes his top-20 country hit "Baby Be My Love Song" to the big chart at #99. His debut single "A Little More Country Than That" went to #42 in 2009. Currently, one of Easton's older album tracks, "Are You With Me", has been remixed into an international club hit for Belgian act Lost Frequencies...
Rounding it out at #100 is alt-dance act Major Lazer with DJ Snake with "Lean On". The record features vocals from Danish singer MO, who also did the same for Iggy Azalea's top-40 hit "Beg For It". Major Lazer, one of producer Diplo's projects, previously went to #56 with "Bubble Butt", while DJ Snake topped out at #4 with "Turn Down For What", while his current "You Know You Like It" is at #67...
And now on to the pop radio format charts...
On the Mainstream Top-40 radio panel, Maroon 5 spend a second week on top with "Sugar"...
The Hot 100 #1 hit, "See You Again" from Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth, drives in here at #31. His previous best as a lead artist is "Roll Up" which peaked at #15..
Australian indie-pop act Sheppard, monikered for the surname of half the band, moves in at #33 with "Geronimo", which made the top 10 on the adult top-40 list...
Synthpop newcomer Ryn Weaver (aka Erin Michelle Wüthrich) debuts at #39 with her word-of-mouth-on-Soundcloud hit "OctaHate".
The former #1 R&B radio hit "Trap Queen" from rapper Fetty Wap crosses over to this format at #40...
Meanwhile, on the older-skewing Adult Top-40 format, Maroon 5's "Sugar" moves to #1. It's their eleventh chart-topper on this list, and the third out of three from their latest album V...
Nick Jonas graduates to this chart at #39 with "Chains". His last single "Jealous" went to #9 here...
Country singer Sam Hunt pops on to this format at #40 with "Take Your Time". Surprisingly it's here before it inevitably hits #1 on the country airplay chart (it's holding at #2)...
Lastly, on the Adult Contemporary (or "easy listening") radio chart, Ed Sheeran remains on top for a sixth week with "Thinking Out Loud"...
Nate Ruess' break from fun., "Nothing Without Love", is the sole new entry at #30. His featured role on Pink's "Just Give Me A Reason" topped this chart...
