Songoftheday 3/18/15 - You and I we'll find a reason to simplify a change of season...
"We're Ready" - Boston
from the album Third Stage (1986)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #9 (one week)
Weeks in the Top-40: 10
Today's Song of the Day comes from the arena rock band Boston, who came back on full engines after an eight year break with their first #1 pop hit "Amanda". After that ballad did great business, their second single went back to their rock roots with "We're Ready". Written and produced by band leader and guitarist Tom Scholz and vocals from Brad Delp, the single focused on their harmonies and subtle guitar hooks to recreate the "Boston sound" for the 80s audience...
"We're Ready" became the second top-10 pop hit from Third Stage in February of 1987, while climbing to #2 on the Mainstream Rock radio chart in Billboard magazine. The single got a more moderate reception north of the border, peaking at #25 on Canada's singles chart.

And here's Boston live in 2012 with new singer Tommy DeCarlo (sadly Delp killed himself in 2007)...
Up tomorrow: another "geographical" band changes lead singers and needs some assurance.
