Songoftheday 5/19/15 - I was caught in the crossfire of a silent scream, where one man's nightmare is another man's dream...

"Heat Of The Night" - Bryan Adams
from the album Into The Fire (1987)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #6 (two weeks)
Weeks in the Top-40: 10

Today's SOTD comes from Canadian mainstream rock singer/songwriter Bryan Adams, whose fourth album Reckless was one of the biggest records of the decade, spinning off six top-40 pop hits in the U.S., including the #1 "Heaven". After a worldwide tour, Bryan released his next album, Into The Fire, in 1987. The first single from the set, "Heat Of The Night", was more memorable in the fact that it was hyped as the first single release on cassette, or "cassingle", in major release (which did cause me to run to my local Peaches store in Chicago to pick it up)...

"Heat Of The Night" became Bryan's fifth top-10 pop hit in America in May of 1987, while climbing all the way to #2 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock radio chart. Internationally, the record went top-10 in Sweden, Norway, and Adams' native Canada, and top-40 in Germany, but over in England the record stopped at the halfway mark at #50.

Up tomorrow: Lethal glam rockers request some cursing.
