Rock Sweep: May 9, 2015...





Round two of today's "chart sweeps" is up, checking out the songs making their debut on this week's Billboard charts, and this time out I've got the latest hits on rock radio...

On the main Rock Airplay chart, Mumford & Sons remain on top for a fourth week with "Believe"...

The top new entry and my "Rock Pick of the Week" comes from Vegas modern rock band Panic! At The Disco" with their new single "Hallelujah". The track samples the classic "Questions 67 & 68" from jazz-rocker Chicago from 1969...

New York alt-rockers X Ambassadors come in at #42 with "Renegades"...



British singer/songwriter George Ezra enters at #49 with "Blame It On Me". It's the follow-up to his breakthrough hit "Budapest", which climbed to #9 on this chart...


...and now on to the rock radio format charts...

On the Mainstream Rock radio panel, country jam group the Zac Brown Band climb to #1 with "Heavy Is The Head" featuring Chris Cornell (their first to top the rock list), while no songs enter the list for the first time...

Meanwhile, on the Alternative/Modern Rock chart, AWOLnation land their first chart-topper with "Hollow Moon (Bad Wolf)", while the aforementioned X Ambassadors come in at #32 on this list...

Michigan singer/songwriter BØRNS (aka Garrett Borns) arrives at #38 with "Electric Love"...


The Panic! At The Disco track also is in at #40...

Lastly, on the Triple-A (adult album alternative, or "hipster rock") format, Mumford & Sons are on top for a fifth week, as no newbies come in...
