"Without Your Love" - Toto
from the album Fahrenheit (1986)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #38 (one week)
Weeks in the Top-40: 2

Today's Song of the Day comes from the soft rock band Toto, who had shuffled through three lead singers in as many albums, with Joseph Williams landing them back in the top-20 with "I'll Be Over You" at the close of 1986. The second single from the Fahrenheit album was the mid-tempo easy-listening jam "Without Your Love", which played like a lite-jazz number, as it was piano-driven (not surprising, as it was written by keyboard-jam David Paich)...

"Without Your Love" became Toto's ninth top-40 pop hit in February of 1987, while scaling up to #7 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary (or "easy listening") chart. Internationally, the single was only a minor hit in the Netherlands at #64.

Here's the band performing "Without Your Love" live in 1990, when they'd already scuttled Williams for vocalist Jon-Michael Byron...
