French Sweep: May 6, 2014...

Bonjour, mes amis, it's time to cross the Atlantic again to check out the songs reaching the official sales chart in France this week, as Pharrell reigns for a lucky 21st week at #1 with "Happy". Will any single be big enough to dethrone it for good?

The single that might have a chance to do it is this week's highest debut. British modern rock stars Coldplay leap on to the chart at #5 with "Midnight", the second single from their upcoming Ghost Stories album. It follows up "Magic" which came in at #6 earlier this year, and in its first week manages to tie for their highest charting hit in France with "Paradise" from 2011. We'll see if it able to climb higher...

Model/actor/singer David Carreira, from the Parisian suburb of Dourdan arrives at #61 with "Boom", this week's "French Pick of the Week". Last year he made it to #53 with "Obrigado la famille" featuring rapper Dry...

The final new entry at #91 is British neo-house musician Duke Dumont with "I Got You" featuring Jax Jones....
