Album Sweep: May 10, 2014 - Part Two...


I'm ready to roll out the second half of this week's "album sweep", sampling the records making their debut on Billboard magazine's official Top 200 Albums sales chart this week. You can check out part one by clicking here, and as before I've included links to buy anything when possible...

Blues musician Keb Mo (Kevin Moore) comes on the chart at #58 with Bluesamericana, his eleventh studio album. It's his second to make the top half of the chart and his best showing yet, though he's racked up four Grammys for best blues album...

Philadelphia-based hip-hop collective Army Of The Pharoahs march in at #63 with their fourth studio album In Death Reborn. It's also their first to make the top half of the "big" albums chart...


Bea Miller,who came in second on the second season of the X Factor USA, coming in behind country singer Tate Stevens, makes her debut at #64 with her Young Blood EP. Tate's album came in at #18 last May...


San Diego rock band Augustana returns at # 67 with their fourth studio set Life Imitating Life. Their last two made the top-40, with 2008's Can't Love Can't Hurt reaching #21...


Canadian heavy metal singer and former Skid Row leader Sebastian Bach is back at #72 with his third solo record Give 'Em Hell. It becomes his best chart showing by a notch...

Another hard rock holdover from the 80s and 90s, Winger, comes back at #85 with Better Days Comin', their sixth album and first in five years. Back in 1990 the group made it to #15 with In The Heart Of The Young...

Philly rap duo OCD Moosh and Twist arrive at #122 with their Living Out Loud EP...


Regional Mexican music singer Roberto Tapia comes in at #147 with Mi Nina...


The soundtrack to the reboot sequel Amazing Spiderman 2 swings in at #152. Besides a score collaborated on by composer Hans Zimmer, R&B star Pharrell Williams, Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr, Incubus guitarist Mike Einziger, and producer and sometimes Eurythmic David A Stewart, the album includes tracks by the likes of Alicia Keys and Pharrell...


Australian singer/songwriter Courtney Barnett debuts at #165 with The Double EP: A Sea Of Split Peas...


The final new entry of the week at #182 belongs to former child star actor turned singer Drake Bell with his third album Ready, Steady Go! His last, It's Only Time, went to #81 in 2006...
