Songoftheday 1/3/13 - I had it with the same old routine I had it with the same old faces, places...

Pat Benatar - "Looking For A Stranger"
from the album Get Nervous (1982)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #39 (two weeks)
Weeks in the Top-40: 3

Today's Song of the Day is by Pat Benatar, who had already scored two top-20 pop hits from her excellent fourth album, Get Nervous, with "Shadows Of The Night" and "Little Too Late".  With her followup single, "Looking For A Stranger", written by veteran songwriter Franne Golde, Pat scored a third top-40 hit, something she has not done on any of her other albums. The bouncy fun track filled with cool synth hooks is one of the many reasons this is my favorite Benatar LP...

Not only was the song a pop hit, "Looking For A Stranger" was huge on rock radio, making it to #4 in 1983.
