Songoftheday 11/17/12 - I hear you had a good offer down on Third Avenue, you tell me that was the reason for whatcha put me through...

Pat Benatar - "Little Too Late"
from the album Get Nervous (1982)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #20 (three weeks)
Weeks in the top-40: 7

Today's Song of the Day is by Pat Benatar (nee' Andrzejewski), the bold-voiced rocker that closed out 1982 with her lucky seventh top-40 hit, "Shadows Of The Night". The follow-up to that single was the equally infectious "Little Too Late", written by singer/songwriter Alex Call, who also penned Tommy Tutone's "867-5309 (Jenny)"...

The new-wave-influenced track became her second pop-top-20 hit from her excellent Get Nervous album (my favorite of hers), and also made the top-40 on the rock radio chart as well.

Up tomorrow: Colorado soft-rock king gets inspiration from "Still Life With Woodpecker".
