"Gonna Fly Now (Theme From Rocky)" was a club hit for jazz trumpeter Maynard Ferguson. Appearing on his album Conquistador, the song was a cover of the concurrent #1 pop hit from the Sylvester Stallone film classic by Bill Conti. On Billboard magazine's National Disco Action Top-40, the single spent a week at #37 in 1977, while climbing to #28 on the pop Hot 100 and #46 on the Adult Contemporary radio list.
