twostepcub's music chart for December 30, 2022...

Friday's here, and it's time to run down my top 100 "hit" tunes from the previous week. Taylor Swift spends a second week at #1, while Beyonce (pictured above) leaps into the top five. Songs from Metallica, Taylor Swift, and Dean Lewis made some of the biggest jumps (moves of 10+ places highlighted in red), while former big hits from Lizzo, Silk Sonic, and Morgan Wallen drop off my chart. And under the list, everything is Spotify playlisted for five and a half hours of the biggest in pop, rock, R&B, country, and dance music. Here's to hoping 2023 will be better than 2022...

And you can check out my top 100 songs from this chart from 2022 by clicking here. Eighteen songs from this chart are on the list...

The top debut of the week is claimed by newcomer Jacob Lawson, who records under the moniker JVKE. A TikTok app "person", JVKE lands all the way up at #72 with his single "Golden Hour", from his first album (well, collection of EPs) This Is What ___ Feels Like Vol 1-4...

British rapper and singer Stormzy arrives at #86 with the second track from his noteworthy This Is What I Mean album to make my chart, the ballad "Firebabe"...

As Lewis Capaldi exits the top ten with "Forget Me" after securing a spot on my year-end top 100 list, he comes in at #91 with the follow-up, "Pointless", which sports the most poignant music video I've seen in quite a while..

Alicia Keys returns at #92 with "Trillions" featuring R&B newcomer Brent Faiyaz. It's from the reissued version of her double-disc set Keys...

DJ/producer Leland Wayne, aka Metro Boomin', strolls in at #93 with a cut from his #1 album Heroes & Villians, "Creepin'" featuring The Weeknd and rapper 21 Savage. The song samples Enya's "Bodicaea" by way of Mario Winan's 2000s hit "I Don't Wanna Know"...

Dance music singer/songwriter Lena Leon twirls in at #94 with her first hit "Spiral"...

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, centered around leader and former Oasis brother Noel, soar in at #95 with "Pretty Boy" from their upcoming album Council Skies. The track features guitarist Johnny Marr formerly of the Smiths...

The final new entry on the chart at #100 is from mysterious "phonk" alt-dance act INTERWORLD with the single "Metamorphosis", which has reached the top ten of the Dance/Electronic Song chart in Billboard magazine...
