Disco Dessert 12/9/22 - "Superman" by Celi Bee...

 

 

"Superman" was a club hit for singer Celida Ines Camacho, aka "Celi Bee" and the Buzzy Bunch. Appearing on her debut album Celi Bee & The Buzzy Bunch, the song was written by Pepe Luis Soto, who produced the track with Tato Rossi.  On Billboard magazine's National Disco Action Top-40, the song was listed with the single's "b-side" that also got DJ attention, "One Love". The single peaked at #3 in 1977. It just missed their Hot 100 pop top-40 at #41, and got to #86 on the R&B Songs chart.
