Disco Dessert 12/1/22 - "Dance Dance (The Mexican)" by Thalia...
"Dance Dance (The Mexican)" was a club hit for Mexican pop singer and actress Thalia (Miranda). Appearing on her 2002 album Thalia, the record is a remake of a 1984 club hit for DJ Jellybean that was an interpolation of the 1972 song "The Mexican" written by Alan Shacklock and recorded by the band Babe Ruth that was a precursor to disco. New lyrics were written by Thalia with producers Cory Rooney and Poke & Tone, and Hex Hector remixed the track for the clubs. On Billboard magazine's Dance Club Play chart, the single peaked at #6 in 2003.
