twostepcub's music chart for August 26, 2022...

Friday's here, and it's time to run down my top 100 "hit" tunes from the previous week. Lizzo commands the #1 spot for an eleventh week, while newcomer Nicky Youre (pictured above) leap into the top five. Former big hits from Ava Max, Dove Cameron, and Bob Moses drop off my chart, while songs from Charlie Puth, Death Cab For Cutie, and Ozzy Osbourne make the biggest jumps (moves of 10+ places highlighted in red). And under the list, everything is Spotify playlisted for five and a half hours of the biggest in pop, rock, R&B, country, and dance music. Do nice guys finish last? Stay tuned...

One of my favorite new-ish rock bands, the 1975, preview their fifth studio album with the highest debut of the week at #87. "Part Of The Band" will be on their October release Being Funny In A Foreign Language...

Brazilian DJ Alok (Petrillo) teams up with singer Ella Eyre on a rework of the Bucketheads "The Bomb! (These Sounds Fall Into My Mind)" (which itself samples Chicago's "Street Player") which gives Kenny "Dope" Gonzalez of the Masters At Work team a credit on the single as well as remixer Never Dull. The new creation, "Deep Down", digs in at #88...

Song doctor Ryan Tedder's band OneRepublic has three songs on my chart this week as their collaboration with DJ/remixer Gryffin, "You Were Loved", arrives at #93...

Morgan Wallen also has two songs here as "You Proof", his current hit at country radio, joins "Wasted On You", which moved on to pop stations, at #94...

Hard rock band Nothing More roll in at #96 with "Tired Of Winning", from their upcoming sixth studio album Spirits...

Newcomer Jaten Dimsdale, aka singer/songwriter Teddy Swims, is featured on two songs on my list; he's was Meghan Trainor on "Bad For Me" at #68 and comes in at #97 with his record with DJ/producer ILLENIUM, "All That Really Matters"...

Steve Lacy, the guitarist for the awesome R&B band the Internet, strikes out on his own at #98 with "Bad Habit", which is already in the top ten of the American pop chart...

The third song from Spoon's latest album Lucifer On The Sofa to make my list, "My Babe", enters at #99...

The final newbie of the week has London DJ/producer Fred Gibson, or FRED Again, join forces with the Swedish House Mafia and rapper Future (who's at #90 with "Wait For U") for the song at #100, "Turn On The Lights Again"...
