"It Ain't Reggae (But It's Funky)" was a club hit for the Philadelphia-based band Instant Funk, who originally came together in Trenton, New Jersey. Appearing on their debut album Get Down With The Philly Jump, the song was written and produced by the group's Bunny Sigler and Kim Miller. On Billboard magazine's National Disco Action Top-40, the single peaked at #24 in 1977.
