"Long Train Running" was a club hit for folk/blues/soul artist Richie Havens. Appearing on his album The End Of The Beginning, the record is a remake of the Doobie Brothers' song written by Tom Johnston. On Billboard magazine's National Disco Action Top-40, the album was listed as a single entry, with "Long Train Running" listed as the sole DJ pick. The set peaked there at #40 in 1976.
