"Love Starts After Dark" was a club hit for keyboardist/conductor Gene Page, who had arranged many of the biggest stars in pop music from the 1960s to the 1980s. Appearing on his final album Love Starts After Dark, the song was written by Leon Sylvers (of the Sylvers' group) and featured vocalist Chamaine Sylvers. On Billboard magazine's Disco Top-100 chart, the single peaked at #46 in 1980. Sadly, Gene passed away in 1998 from medical problems at 59 years old.
