"Work That Sucker To Death" was a club and radio hit for Xavier, a funk band from Hartford Connecticut (of all places) named for its lead singer/guitarist Ernest "Xavier" Smith. Appearing on the group's debut (and only) album Point Of Pleasure, the song was written by their guitarist Jeff Mitchell and bass player Ralph Hunt along with producers Terry Phillips and Rahni Harris. On Billboard magazine's Disco Top-80 chart, the single peaked at #21 in 1982, while rising to #6 on their R&B chart as well...
