Rock Sweep: November 15, 2014...

Round two of this week's "chart sweeps" is up, sampling the songs making the radio charts in Billboard magazine, and this time I've got the latest songs on rock radio....

On the main aggregate Rock Airplay chart, the Foo Fighters spend a second week at #1 with "Something From Nothing"...

Las Vegas alternative rock band Imagine Dragons leaps on to the chart at #16 with the first single from their upcoming second album, "I Bet My Life". It's also my "Rock Pick of the Week". They had already topped this chart with "Radioactive" last year...

British pop/soul singer Sam Smith crosses over at #47 with his "I'm Not The Only One". His breakthrough single "Stay With Me" made it to #36 on this list...

Welsh indie-rockers Catfish and the Bottlemen enter at #48 with "Kathleen". The track also moves up to #32 on the Alternative Rock chart in its second week...

Echosmith arrive on the main rock list at #49 with "Cool Kids". The song sits at #37 on the Alternative list, while on the Hot 100 pop chart it's up at #17...

Heavy metal "supergroup" HellYeah drop in at #50 with "Moth", which also jumps up to #15 on the Mainstream Rock chart....

...and now on to the rock radio format charts...

On the Mainstream Rock radio panel, the Foo Fighters are also on top for a second week..

Lenny Kravitz lands at #36 with "Dirty White Boots". It's his first on this format in seven years; back in 1993 he went to #1 with "Are You Gonna Go My Way", and he did the same in 1999 with "Fly Away"...

Hard rock act Chevelle's third single from their La Gárgola album, "An Island", sails in at #38. The first, "Take Out The Gunman", topped the chart in the spring...

Vegas hard rockers Adelitas Way are in at #40 with "Save The World". It's the follow-up to "Dog On A Leash", which peaked at #7 on this list...

Meanwhile, on the Alternative/Modern Rock chart,  German duo Milky Chance are on top for an eighth week with "Stolen Dance", while the aforementioned Imagine Dragons track leaps in at #14...

Lastly, on the Triple-A (adult album alternative, or "hipster rock") radio format,  Spoon returns to #1 for a third non-consecutive week with "Do You"...

English singer/songwriter James Bay debuts at #28 with his first hit single "Let It Go"...

The father-son duo Tweedy claim the #30 spot with "Low Key"..

That's all for the rock side of things...I'll be back in an hour and a half with the latest on R&B radio..
