Album Sweep: November 8, 2014 - Part Three..


I'm ready to wrap up this week's late-in-coming "album sweep", sampling the records making their way on to Billboard magazine's Top 200 Albums sales chart. You can check out parts one and two by clicking here and here, and as before I've included highlighted links to buy anything when available.

Swedish death metal act Amaranthe score their first appearance on the Top 200 with their third effort Massive Addictive, which is in at #105...

One notch under that at #106 is "horrorcore" rapper Blaze Ya Dead Homie with his fifth effort Gang Rags: Reborn. In 2010 he took the original version of  Gang Rags to #52...


Soul singer Dave Hollister returns at #110 with Chicago Winds...The Saga Continues. This is his seventh solo album since leaving new-jack stars Blackstreet. He made the top-10 on the albums chart in 2000 with Things In The Game Done Changed...


"Afro-soul" instrumental act the Budos Band, from Staten Island, move in at #114 with the more psychedelic rock-oriented Burnt Offering. It's their highest rank as yet...


Jukebox the Ghost, a power-pop band from the Washington DC area, send their self-titled fourth album to #121....


Philadelphia-based underground hip-hop collective Army of the Pharaohs chimes in at #142 with Heavy Lies The Crown. Earlier this year they took In Death Reborn to #63...


Alternative rock veteran Mark Lanegan, who has recorded with Screaming Trees and Queens Of The Stone Age, is back at #148 with Phantom Radio. In 2012 his band's set Blues Funeral made it to #99...


"Hillbilly rap" artists Jawga Boyz and Dez arrive at #155 with Tailgate Music...


Neo-soul singer Goapele nabs her third charting album as Strong As Glass breaks in at #159. Her last effort, Break Of Dawn, peaked at #77 in 2011...


The electronica collection Monstercat 019: Endeavor comes in at #164...


In preparation for their upcoming 2015 album, seminal female punk rock trio Sleater-Kinney's compilation Start Together///1994-2006 take its turn at #176. It's a vinyl box set of their seven albums that had a limited run and are sold out already. Their last studio album, The Woods, climbed to #80 in 2005...


California pop-punk band Forever Came Calling get their first record on the Top 200 as What Matters Most moves in at #179...
The final debut of the week comes from former Sonic Youth leader Thurston Moore with The Best Day at #193. His last solo set Demolished Thoughts went to #139 in 2011...
