Soul Sweep: February 1, 2014...
We're at the "hump" of today's "chart sweeps", sampling the songs reaching the singles charts in Billboard magazine, and now I'm serving up the lastest R&B songs on the radio..
On the main R&B/Hip Hop Airplay chart, Drake's 14-week run is over thanks to Beyonce and Jay Z who jump from #5 to #1 with "Drunk In Love". I guess a little Tina Turner-bashing is good for them. It's Beyonce's fifth #1 airplay hit...
The top entry of the week at #34 is "O.G. Bobby Johnson" from Que. Okaaay.

Singer/songwriter Trey Songz returns at #39 with "Na Na", from his upcoming sixth album. He has so far topped this chart twice with "I Invented Sex" and "Can't Be Friends"...
Omarion returns at #48 with "Know You Better" with rappers Fabolous and Pusha T. It's from the Self Made Vol. 3 various-artists set. He's gone as high as #4 as a featured artist on Bow Wow's "Let Me Hold You" in 2005...
K. Michelle pops in at #49 with "Can't Raise A Man". It's the follow-up to "V.S.O.P.", which went to #7 last year...
Meanwhile, on the older-skewing Adult R&B chart, Robin Thicke holds tight for a fourth week with "For The Rest Of My Life"...
Toni Braxton & Babyface follow up their #1 hit "Hurt You" with "Where Did We Go Wrong", which jumps in at #20, and is my "Soul Pick of the Week"...
The other song making its debut is from newcomer Mali Music, with "Beautiful"....
I'll return in an hour and a half with the latest on country radio... Groove on!
